About the event
Did you know that Coles County is home to a maternity colony of endangered bats? On a hot buggy night in 2015, researchers made a discovery that set in motion a new 30-year project at Warbler Ridge Conservation Area to restore and protect habitat for the Indiana bat. Join Grand Prairie Friends to learn the story of this amazing Coles County recovery project. Hear more about the natural history of bats in our area and what you can do today in your backyard to help protect these threatened species. Thanks to our grant, we will also be doing a prize drawing for 3 bat houses at the end of the program! Join us for your chance to win! This program is funded by Rural Gateways Grant for STEM programming in the Community. This meeting will be hosted in the Rotary Room.
